The Tree Frog

The tree frog is a magnificent species of frog that spends its major part of life in trees, thus its name.It is native to the eastern United States.

Its biological name is Agalychnis callidryas.  These amphibians are arboreal, meaning they spend a lot of time hiding in the trees. The frogs live in tropical lowlands in Central America and northern South America, and though one might think that its bright red eyes and blue and yellow markings would put the amphibian in danger, the crafty frog actually uses its flashy colors to its advantage. They have no problem in scaling trees and leaves, and look Beautiful.

I have made a drawing of a tree frog. I hope you like it.

Living In Space

Living in space is very hard. There's no gravity, so doing everyday things isn't a piece of cake.
Here are some ways astronauts live and work in space aboard a space station.

1. Cleanliness-

Astronauts need to stay clean in space as well as you need to on earth. They have toothpastes, toothbrushes, combs, brushes and shavers. All these are to be found in a personal hygiene kit.Astronauts use different and special kinds of soap and shampoo. After washing they wipe up with a towel.Image result for an astronaut in the toilet

2. Neat and Tidy-
In space, astronauts live in a very small space. They have to keep their area clean in space just like we do on Earth. They use wet wipes to clean things. There are four bins on the space shuttle. The first three bins are for wet trash and the last fourth one is for dry waste. They also use a vacuum cleaner.

3. Beauty Sleep-
Well, don't suppose that astronauts float around in sleep !
They hop into a sleeping bag and then strap themselves in it. Otherwise they would be crashing into things all night!

It is really hard to live in space, still astronauts are trained for it and they do it to find out more about the mind boggling, beautiful space.

Here are some of the tasty vegetables and fruits that I have made.

  • Bananas are the fruit produced by various banana plants.
  • When ripe they are usually long and curved with a soft inside covered by a yellow skin (peel).
  • Bananas can be found in other colors, including red.
  • Banana plants are not trees, they are a type of herb.
  • Humans have grown bananas for thousands of years.
  • Most species of banana plant originated in Southeast Asia.
  • Bananas grow in large, hanging bunches.
  • A row of bananas is sometimes called a 'hand', while a single banana is called a 'finger'.
  • India is the leading  producer of bananas.

The Cutie Banana !

Lady Finger ( Okra )

  • Lady's fingers is popularly known as Bhindi in India and 'Okra' in US.
  • Lady's finger is a rich source of many nutrients, including fiber, vitamin B6 and folic acid.
  • Okra is very much effective in controlling Blood sugar level.
  • It is also used as a home remedy for cold. It's another use is in controlling diabetes.

Lady Finger with umbrella!

  • The lemon is native to Asia, around Northeast India, North Burma, and China.
  • Lemons are believed to be a hybrid between a sour orange and a citron.
  • The lemon is an evergreen tree, it blooms (a white flower) and produces fruit all year round. Each tree can produce between 500 and 600 pounds (225 kg and 270 kg) of lemons a year.
  • Christopher Columbus took lemon seeds with him to the America's in 1493, introducing the fruit there.
  • Lemons have a sour taste to them, this is due to the fact that lemon juice contains about 5-6% citric acid.
Chottu Lemon!

  • Broccoli originated in Italy off of the Mediterranean. It has been eaten there since the time of the ancient Romans in the 6th Century BC.
  • Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family, making it a cruciferous vegetable. It's name is derived from the Italian word broccolo, meaning the flowering top of a cabbage.
  •  Want something high in Vitamin C but don't feel like eating fruit? Broccoli is very high in Vitamin C, making 1 cup of chopped broccoli the Vitamin C equivalent of an orange. One cup of raw chopped broccoli will give you your entire daily needed intake.
Sporty Broccoli!

She jumped so high !
she performed a feat !
She uses not her lipstick,
But red juicy beet.
She loves to play badminton,
She then still votes for Hillary Clinton.
She plays with her pet bear,
Still from mice she does fear.
In her hair she has lice,
Even after washing twice and thrice !
She has a lot of money,
And eating cheese she thinks is funny!
She buys clothes in April and May,
I do hope you meet her one day !

Here is my funny poem I just wrote, hope you like it !

Dr. Salim Ali,
one of the greatest ornithologists and naturalists of all time, is also known as the “birdman of India”. He was one of the very first scientists to carry out systematic bird surveys in India and abroad. His research work is considered highly influential in the development of ornithology.
Today is Dr. Salim Alis Birth Anniversary I'm dedicating my Poem to him.

Save Me!

A little voice said,
Don't let me go on my deathbed.
Who am I ? You might ask,

I am a little bird
Spare me!
Don't you hunt me down,
Don't make me fall to the ground.

I want to fly,
High up in the sky

I eat the little things you humans call bugs,
I am not so lucky,
liked poodles and pugs.

I may be dull in colour, or a magnificent blue,
But my family and ancestors,
they all flew.

Our food chain and ecosystem,
all its linked,

Save me my friends!
Don't let me go extinct.

Groaaaaar !!!!

The jungle is full of surprises and mysteries, preys and predators, different varieties of strange and mind boggling creatures. One of them is the majestic and proud cat that we know as the  Tiger. It has stripes, which are known to be as unique as our fingerprints. The tiger has reddish orange fur and is in the species Panthera. It is the Panthera Tigris. They hunt alone and generally at night. A tiger is known to stalk prey already 20 times before killing it. Tigers are good swimmers too. There are atleast five species of tigers.
In India there are royal bengal tigers in the Sunderbans. Now sadly there are less tigers left in the world due too poaching and hunting. We can save the tigers if we don't buy the medicine made out of them. Almost every part of a tiger can be used for something, even the whiskers! So if we don't buy the product of tigers the Tiger market won't flourish and nobody will buy it. Then if no one will buy then the hunters won't have any profit and will stop killing the cat. One more reason that can be a reason for extinction of this species is deforestation and loss of natural habitat . We can stop deforestation by not cutting trees, not buying things made by wood and trying to plant more and more trees as possible. Saving tigers will be a lot good !
So friends,
                        Save  Tigers!

Firecrackers....! I shouted as I saw a big polythene bag in my uncle's hand. I was excited and the only thought I could think of next was to explode them.
But my next thought was the one that I pondered over for at least half an hour and it could well stop the first one. It was about pollution.

Firecrackers pollute but the big trouble is that they scare dogs and cats so much they yelp and pant for help and hide away. Firecrackers have an adverse effect on the environment too. Crackers can cause land pollution, because of the paper that is left after exploding. They cause air pollution too, as they release a large amount of CO², better known as carbon dioxide and sulphur, lead etc etc.

On Diwali we light up lamps, also known as Akashdiva or Akashkandil. Diwali is celebrated on Amavasya ( new moon day). It is known as the darkest night of the year. I love lighting diyas and electric lightings to beatify my balcony. May all have a happy Diwali !!!

Be the change you wish to see

Gandhiji is the world's face for peace. He had introduced the weapon of truth -Satyagraha. Gandhiji believed in non violence and the language of love, peace, truth and harmony.

He inspired millions and billions of people in India and beyond far in foreign countries. Gandhiji's message was spread worldwide everywhere.

To the winds I want to say

Free me of worldly bonds

with cooling touch so fond,

Free me of my worldly stress

then sadness will be so less.

To the sun I want to say

Give me warmth of hope

So with problems can I cope

Your great power let me find

So from no one I lack behind.

To the clouds I want to say

Wash me of my troubles

So my happiness doubles

With the goodness of your rain,

All sorrows go down the drain.

So even if I miss my train,

and even if it doesn't rain,

I will have nature's kindness

the cure for world's madness.

Village life

Medium : Sketch pen and Wax crayons.

Village life is very simple life. Not like our city which has polluted air. Go to a village and you will see that it is green everywhere. Breathe in the fresh air. Swim in the river. Eat as much you want and rest under the cooling shade of the tree.
Really , village life is beautiful and relaxing.

The Moon

Where the moon goes
Never leaving a trail,
Nor does it go by car,
Nor does it go by rail.

Then comes morning,
with the happy sun
We go out and have a fun.

As we say bye to the Sun,
There arrives moon again.
I write a letter to the moon,
with my pen.

I wish I was a butterfly
so that I could fly in the sky
I would suck nectar from flowers
and like a Bee over them I would hover.

I would have colorful wings
and then sweet songs I would sing

I wish I was a butterfly
I would talk to squirrels big,
and when I become tired
I would sit on a twig.

I wish I was a butterfly.

My new Poem and Drawing:  I LOVE SPARROW Happy World Sparrow Day!!

I wonder how a sparrow is,

A bit yellow, brown and white,

Every day she comes to my windowsill,

Eating grains still and quiet.

I wonder how a sparrow is,

Who builds her nests on trees,

Never throw a pebble at her,

Even to see how quickly she flees.

I wonder how a Sparrow is,

Who eats a berry,

Even if I don’t know who she is,

I’ll say she is cute very.

If we harm the sparrow,

It will be no good,

Because if there are none of them,

The insects will eat all our food.

So, friends keep them safe,

So we will be alive,

Promise you’ll not harm them

And give me High-Five.

Happy Birthday,Einstein!

In 1915, Albert Einstein published his general theory of relativity, which described gravity as a fundamental property of space-time. He came up with a set of equations that relate the curvature of space-time to the energy and momentum of the matter and radiation that are present in a particular region.

A hundred years later, Einstein’s theory of gravitation has withstood all the tests that scientists could throw at it. But until recently, it wasn't possible to do experiments to probe the theory under extreme conditions to see whether it breaks down.

Now, scientists have the technology to look for evidence that could reveal physics beyond general relativity.

Today, 14th of March, 2015 is this great and brilliant scientist’s 100th birth anniversary. His theory produced some pretty wild predictions, which includes the possibility of black holes, which another brilliant scientist Stephen Hawking has proved. "There's a very good chance we will be detecting [gravitational waves] directly in the next couple of years," said Clifford Will, a theoretical physicist at the University of Florida. "What he wrote down is the same thing we use today," Will said.

His being a great scientist is the reason why I like him.

This lovely ROSE of mine

This is Lovely ROSE,
A model always ready with a pose.

Whenever I sight it,
It always gets me excited.

It is the king of flowers,
This Lovely ROSE of mine,
This lovely ROSE of mine.

It lives with so many thorns,
Like that it was born
But it happily lives with flowers
and forgets the sad story about its thorns.

we should always live like this lovely rose,
This lovely ROSE of mine,
This lovely ROSE of mine

Happy Birthday Teacher

Today is my teacher's birthday I wrote a poem for her.

She is the guiding light in every step of mine,
She is the one who always keeps me in line.

When I am in the dark, she is there to throw light
She is like a second mother who loves like my mom might.

When I make a wrong decision, she shows me the way,
She is like an artist who is moulding her clay.

She is my favorite ma'am, and I know she'll always be,
And I know she will be always there for me.

One day I'll own a big garden,
To look after it I'll need a warden.

I'll grow poppies, daisies and snapdragons,
If I wanna sell some I will need a big wagon.

The poppies I grow will be blue,
and I will need a clue,
to know where in the world they sell blue!

Of vegetables I'd say tomatoes while
my friends would grow potatoes
This will be my dream garden.
